Regional Guaranteed Ride Home Program

Guidelines and Agreements

The TMA Group Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) service is intended to provide emergency rides home for registered and qualified commuters in Middle Tennessee who make use of the regional commute bus, commute train or commute Vanstar vanpool service a minimum of three times a week.

This service is limited to the Tennessee counties of Davidson, Cheatham, Dickson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson or Wilson, and can be limited in some of these counties where arranged transportation is not available.

Commuters must be pre-registered in the program and will receive a voucher for a participating taxi service arranged by the customer for transportation home.

The Guaranteed Ride Home service is not available during bad weather.

To register for the Guaranteed Ride Home service, qualified applicants must register in the TMA Group database. You will to keep your log in ID and password available so that you can sign on to your profile and secure your guaranteed voucher and print the voucher when necessary. It is this GRH voucher that you will present to your taxi driver after you have made arrangements.

The Guaranteed Ride Home service is intended to provide emergency rides home for regular ridesharers who cannot ride home with their normal vanpool, train or express bus. To qualify, participants must use a registered vanpool, an express bus, or the WeGo Star at least 3 times per week or a minimum 15 times per month. The service is expressly not intended to provide a ride home for activities that are known at least one day in advance. Specifically, you may use the service only for the following reasons:

If you register for this service, the TMA Group will pay for your trip home up to six times a year. You will be provided a taxicab. TMA Group will pay for the trip, including tip or gratuity to the taxicab driver. TMA Group will only honor vouchers used in accordance with the program; vouchers changed or used by someone other than the designated person will not be honored.

TMA Group will be responsible only for the fare and gratuity to the driver of the taxicab.

Indemnifications

Participant understands that participating in the TMA Guaranteed Ride Home Program and the use or operation of any motor vehicle involves certain risks, hazards, and dangers including, by way of illustration but not limitation: exposure to infectious diseases or illnesses (including COVID-19); extreme or inclement weather; accidents; rescue operations; emergency treatment; loss of or damage to personal property; delays, tardiness, and failure to make an appropriate or scheduled pick-up resulting in tardiness or absence from work. Participant understands that these risks, hazards, and dangers may result in serious bodily injury, death, paralysis, permanent disability or other economic losses. Participant further understands that accidents or injuries may occur in locations or under circumstances where medical attention is not readily available. Participant understands that these risks, hazards, and dangers may result from a variety of circumstances including, but not limited to, the use or misuse of the vehicle, defects in the vehicle, adverse weather conditions, the actions or inactions of myself, the driver, or others, or by the negligent acts or omissions of the Released Parties defined below. Participant understands that the description of risks herein is not complete and that other risks or events that are known or unknown, may result in serious bodily injury and/or death. Participant understands and has considered the risks involved in participating in the TMA Guaranteed Ride Home Program, and in acknowledging this Agreement, voluntarily and freely chooses to assume these risks.

On behalf of Participant's self, and Participant's heirs, assigns, next of kin, executors and administrators, Participant releases from liability and forever discharges The Transportation Management Association Group , Participant's employer, the State of Tennessee, Williamson County Government, Regional Transportation Authority and each of their affiliates and related entities, as well as each of their officers, directors, shareholders, agents, insurers, employees, volunteers, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively "Released Parties") from any and all losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses, and any causes of action, suits, claims, and demands of any type or kind whatsoever at law or in equity, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, including and without limitation, those involving personal, bodily, or mental injury (including death), economic loss, property damage, or any other loss resulting from, arising out of, or in any way connected to Participant's use or operation of any TMA program or participation in the TMA Guaranteed Ride Home Program collectively “Claims”), including Claims that are based in whole or in part on Participant's own actions or inactions of others, or on the negligent acts or omissions of the Released Parties. Participant further promises not to sue any of the Released Parties for any Claim and agrees to defend, hold harmless, and indemnify the Released Parties from any and all Claims asserted, commenced, or threatened against any of the Released Parties. This provision shall survive the termination of this Agreement.
